We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we jigged and ran an aku live and had a big mahi eat it and not hookup, but a small mahi did hookup on a small pole and Larry got it. Then a big baracuda ate another live aku and we got him too. Then on down to a different buoy, where we got one more shibi. Good going Larry. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 4:24 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. We took a single hit at the buoy, the 95 pound ahi and Randy did a good job on it with some help from Scot and Miles. It was to the boat in about 15 minutes after running out 300 yards of line. Then we jigged and got an aku that went out live. Then a mahi came around and Scot baited it up and Miles got to reel it in. No hits on the way in, and all the fish got to keep their  eyes. These folks did great for how rough it was today. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was 4:00 when we left on this day of20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got a 10 pound shibi on our first pass at the buoy. Then we jigged and got some aku and shibi, a few were bigger at about 10 pounds. Then Scot baited up a bunch of shibi and a small mahi. A big mahi came around and Scot hooked it up on 80# test no leader and Travis did a great job of getting it to the boat, and we got it. Then we went to another buoy and hooked up a shark on 60# test and he reeled it to the boat before it broke off. Travis did great on all these fish, he loves to fish and it showes. Aloha Capt Rusty

We baited some more and got some nice sized shibi, we gave Travis a good workout on all these fish and he did great. We went to another bouy and got 2 more mahi to end up with 8. Then we jigged and got some small shibi, and baited up  some more mahi and small shibi. Then we set up and went out and found a small log and got a bunch more mahi to end up with 19 mahi. Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Marte Amrine caught one 435 pound marlin 11 mahi and 3 big shibi for a great day of fishing
It was 4:00 when we got going on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got one mahi on the way there, and took a double mahi at the buoy and got them all. We jigged and got one 4 pound aku and ran it live, then a big shibi hit a clarke spoon and Marte got it after a good battle. Then a few more mahi showed up and Scot baited them up. Then we baited and Scot hooked up some bigger shibi, while we had one of those on a big marlin came up and ate our live aku, it did not run or jump at all. Marte was all warmed up on all those shibi and mahi and the marlin was the main event. It took about 45 minutes for him to reel this big fish in, and he did it very well. Once we got it in the boat we headed for the barn, only to find a big net floating on the way. There Scot baited some more mahi to end up with 11. Marte was a great angler, and in good shape to be able to reel all those fish in by himself, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Jim Reyes, Jose Reyes, Joel Reyes, David Garcia, and Tony Reyes caught 2 mahi and 3 big shibi and some small shibi
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 25 mph trades going to my favorite buoy.  On the way we hooked up 2 nice mahi and got them both. We took no trolling hits at the buoy so we jigged and hooked up a big shibi and a small one on our first pass. Scot baited up a bunch of mid size shibi on light line, and one bigger one too. It was some fast action for a while there. Back in the harbor there were no takers for eyeballs, oh well. These guys did well for how rough it was. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Kimi Arnold, and Greg Powin caught 6 mahi and one 45 pound barracuda and some aku and shibi
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 25 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. We took a triple on our first pass and got 2 mahi and 1 shibi. We caught some baits and  ran them live, a mahi came along soon after and ate one and we got it. Then one of our baits got chopped off by a big barracuda, so we put our next live bait out on a suicide rig and it caught a nice mahi. The next 2 baits on the suicide rig were choppped and did not hookup, the third one got it and we landed a 45 pound barracuda, a new record for the year. Scot baited up a few more mahi on light line to end up with 6 for the day. Back in the harbor Greg was game to eat an eyeball out of a mahi, I like it. These guys were real troopers to handle the rough water we had today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Shane Betts, John Wright, Lee Hurford caught 3 mahi and 1 ono and lots of aku and shibi
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 25 mph trades going to my old favorite bouy. No hits trolling so we jigged and ran live baits, a mahi came around and Scot baited 2 of them up on light line. Then we went to another bouy, there we baited up one nice big mahi on a whole aku and lost a smaller one. Then while jigging we caught a 20 pound ono on a clarke spoon on 40 pound test, that was the first time we had ever done that. Back in the harbor all these guys ate fish eyes too, I like it. These guys did a great job on this sorta rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty
