Located in the centre of Barcelona, in the heart of the business and commercial quarter, the Gran Derby Hotel is the ideal location for business meetings or simply to unwind. It was built in 1983, and in recent years all its furniture has been replaced with modern, 17th-century, and 19th-century pieces. Recently the hotel has acquired an important collection of contemporary art, including original works by Picasso, Dali, Guinovart, Tapies, Miro, Cuixart, Antoni Clave, Riera i Arago and Mariscal, amongst other artists. Prints by Tapies, Brossa, Pijuan, Feito, Arroyo and Chillida also form part of the collection and are on display in the hotel. The hotel has 40 soundproofed and air-conditioned duplex rooms and junior suites, most with balconies overlooking the hotel garden, outdoor swimming pool. Also, secretarial services and safe deposit boxes are available.
