WLID Program Areas

WLID implements overseas projects in three program areas:

  • Education – Building on World Learning’s more than 70-year heritage in international education, WLID works toward attaining education for all – one community at a time.
  • Civil Society and Social Change – WLID’s work in strengthening civil society empowers those who most need to be heard on matters of poverty alleviation, community development, human rights, and the full range of issues on which political leaders must be held accountable by their citizens.
  • Training and Exchange – WLID works to build a strong network of individuals and institutions who use their new knowledge and insights to contribute to their communities. WLID is a major provider training for government agencies, private firms, and non-profit organizations, as well as exchange programs tailored to the requirements of participants from more than 130 countries each year.

Global Reach

WLID's activities reach people and communities throughout the world. WLID has implemented development projects in more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Our training and exchange programs reach individuals and groups from more than 130 countries in both the developed and developing world.
