Foreign Service Written Exam: The next exam will be held on April 23, 2005. The application deadlines will be March 16, 2005 for overseas test centers, and March 23, 2005 for domestic test centers. Registration will open in mid-January. Details will be posted as soon as they become available.

Summer Clerical Program: Please be advised that the process for applying to the U.S. Department of State's Summer Clerical program will be changing. Beginning with applications for the summer 2005 program, we will be processing all applications online via our new web based application system, Gateway to State: StudentGate. We expect that this new application will be available by mid-November 2004. Hardcopy/paper applications will not be accepted. We look forward to improving our service to you.
For Passers of the 2004 Foreign Service Written Exam: If you have not yet scheduled your Oral Assessment, you may do so by emailing your request to reschedule@state.gov. For 2004-2005, assessments are being conducted in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. At the moment, space is more readily available in Washington, D.C.
