Community Chest

The Community Chest is an innovative and unique payment option for ezboard services. With it, every active community member – Global, Local, Admin, and even unregistered members – can contribute and help pay for ezboard services. Generally speaking, covering the costs for large or even small communities may not be feasible for a single individual. The Community Chest allows the entire community to share the in the responsibility. Contributors always have the option of remaining anonymous. Please see the Community Chest FAQ as well for further information.

How to Use the Community Chest


User: Contributing to a Community Chest as a user

  1. Go to the community where you would like to contribute.
  2. Click on the Community Chest icon near the top or bottom of the forum listing page (front page of the community).
  3. To make a direct payment with your credit card, through PayPal, or with check/money order click on the Direct Payment link. If you prefer to accept an offer, click on the Accept Offer link.
  4. Your username and the community you are contributing will already be filled in. This will identify you as a contributor and will include your username in the board's list of contributors - if you would like to appear as anonymous - check the box next to Anonymous Contribution.
  5. You can look to the left and see what the goal for the community is as well as a link to a List of Contributors.
  6. Fill in the amount you would like to contribute (minimum contribution is $1).
  7. Read out Terms of Use.
  8. Click on the Submit button.

Admins

Turning on Community Chest for your ezboard

  1. If you are the admin for your community, go to the My Community tab in your Control Center and manage the correct community.
  2. Click on the Manage Community Chest button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Click on the Enable link.

Making an order:

  1. If you are the admin for your community, go to the My Community tab in your Control Center and manage the correct community.
  2. 2. Click on the yellow Purchase Community Services button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. To make a pending purchase, click on the click here or Purchase Services link and choose Community Chest as a payment option.
  4. Selecting the Community Chest option will activate your Community Chest and allow users to contribute towards the cost of this service.
  5. Read out Terms of Use and then check the Agree box.
  6. Click on the Submit button.
  7. Review the next page then click on the Submit button again to confirm.

Contributing as an Admin:

  1. If you are the admin for your community, there are two ways you can contribute.
  2. Click on the Manage Community Chest button.
  3. Make sure your Community Chest is ENABLED and you have a Pending Purchase set.
  4. Under Community Chest Status section, click on the Make a Contribution link.
  5. Fill in the necessary information and go through your selected payment process.
