Need of Backup for Data Recovery
September 11 is remembered not only for the terrorist attack on US, but it tells the inside story of successful data recovery systems of our digitized world. When world trade center building was attacked by terrorists and the entire stock exchange building was destroyed, how come transaction records of million of share transactions were still not destroyed?
Well well, it was only the online backup system because of which data recovery was always there to save not only the share holders but also US and World Economy. The importance of backup always lies on unpredicted circumstance of loosing data where the importance of data recovery becomes the biggest priority.
When Do We Need Data Recovery?
There are circumstances where data recovery from backups is required depending on its importance. Networking on one hand is a boom to us, and on other, its a door to destroy all your data. Virus's are not the only factor to eat up all your data. There are hundreds of other reasons. Computer Hardware crash, burglary, self mistakes are some of the general factors. Natural factors like, fire, earth quakes and other natural destructions completely washes away your hardware and its data and possibility of data recovery becomes negligible.
Methods of Data Recovery Through Backup
There are significant methods of taking data backups depending on the its need, importance, and time factor. Individuals and small business firms prefer to take backup on secondary hard drives and data cartridges depending on the size of data. The most important factor is to keep backup of data copies at an external place away from original working place. There are companies which maintain and keep backup of your data through Network at a distinct place.
In this case natural destructions and burglary which completely wash out your hardware components, will still not affect your data recovery. Financial institutions, banks and share markets are always live. There data backups are supposed to be always online and to be kept at two or three different distinct places.
What If Data Recovery Not Possible?
What will happen if million of share transactions are lost in moment? What if bank records gets corrupt because of some hard virus strike? Through backup, data recovery is possible. But suppose backup system is not implemented properly and data recovery is not possible. Well, this is a digital world and day to day records are maintained in digitized form. The world economy will come to a standstill. The effects could be devastating to society and each and every individual. Hard earned money can be lost in moments.
Public Institutions and Data Backup for Data Recovery
As the effects could be devastating to the world in case of data loss, it should be made compulsory for data backups for all Public and Private Institutions who have direct link to public wealth and investments. Some legal body should always check the proper functioning of the data recovery system for such institutions. For a secured digitized world in the future, data recovery system will be the only system which will recover our hard earned digitized records of investments.
