Financial Advertising

The FSA launched a Financial Promotions Hotline on 6th July 2004. The hotline has been set up to make it easier for you to let us know about adverts you believe are unfair, unclear or misleading. Look at Report a misleading advert.

Financial adverts can be a useful source of information about new or good-value deals, as long as you're aware of their limitations.

In this part of the site, we explain our role in preventing people being misled by adverts and other promotional material. We also give you some tips on how to use financial adverts to shop around, explain what to do if you spot a misleading advert, and give you an insight into the tactics used by some advertisers to present their products in the best possible light.
