Our Board of Directors is a collection of accomplished individuals with life-long legacies of service to leading organizations and government agencies. Their collective leadership, perspective and vision continues to help position Entrust as a world leader in securing digital identities and information. The Board includes:
F. William Conner:
A corporate turn-around and Internet security expert, Mr. Conner was selected as Chairman of the Entrust Board in January 2002. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Entrust since April of 2001 and is among the most experienced security and infrastructure executives worldwide.
Mr. Conner has served on the Entrust board of directors since 1997 and was Chairman of the Board from October 1998 to May 2000. Prior to joining Entrust, between 1992 and April 2001, he held various senior executive positions at Nortel Networks, including president of Nortel Enterprise Networks and e-Business Solutions where he successfully turned around the global $5 billion business. Mr. Conner also served as president of Nortel's first Enterprise Data Networks line of business, where he orchestrated for Nortel its $9 billion acquisition of Bay Networks. In addition, he served as Nortel Networks' first chief marketing officer and spearheaded the integration and alignment of the corporation's strategic communications, branding and marketing, including its global "Come Together" and "What Do You Want The Internet To Be?" marketing campaigns. This work had a dramatic increase in brand recognition and business results. Marketing Computers named him "hi-tech marketer of the year" in 2000. Mr. Conner joined Nortel Networks in 1992 from AT&T;, where he served in various leadership positions.
Mr. Conner currently serves on the Board of Directors of Travelocity.com. He also serves on the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Joint Forces Command and keynoted at the Supreme Allied Command SACLANT (NATO) Seminar in Norfolk, VA in June 2001. Mr. Conner previously held board positions with Williams Communications and MATRA Nortel Networks.
Liener Temerlin:
Mr. Temerlin joined the Entrust board of directors in January 2002. He is Chairman Emeritus of Temerlin McClain, a division of the Interpublic Group (IPG), which is the largest advertising, marketing and communications resource in the world. Mr. Temerlin began his distinguished marketing career with Glenn Advertising in Dallas, remaining with the agency as it evolved through nearly five decades of mergers to become part of IPG in June 2001. Mr. Temerlin's focus is on building brands while building demand for market leaders like American Airlines, JCPenney Corporation, Nationwide Insurance, Subaru of America, Bank of America, Bell Helicopter and Nortel Networks. His board roles in civic and global organizations include the East/West Institute; the American Film Institute; the Library of Congress, Madison Council; and Southern Methodist University (SMU) among many others. In October 2001, the SMU school of advertising was named "The Temerlin Advertising Institute for Education and Research" in his honor.
Butler C. Derrick, Jr.:
Mr. Derrick has served on Entrust's board of directors since May 1999. Since August 1998, he has been a Partner at the law firm of Powell, Goldstein,
Frazer & Murphy LLP, Washington, D.C. From January 1995 to July 1998, Mr.
Derrick was a Partner at the law firm of Williams & Jensen, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Derrick served in Congress as a United States Representative from South
Carolina from January 1975 to January 1995. Mr. Derrick has ties to key
congressional decision makers and extensive expertise in the fields of
legislative procedure and the congressional budget process.
While in Congress, Mr. Derrick was known as a thoughtful and pragmatic
member who could work behind the scenes to secure passage of important
legislation. His reputation and ability to craft compromises led to his
appointment as Chief Deputy Majority Whip, the fifth highest-ranking
position in the House of Representatives and Vice Chairman of the powerful
House Rules Committee. Mr. Derrick served as Chairman of the Budget
Committee's Reconciliation Process and served for twelve years on the
Democratic Policy Committee, four years on the House Banking Committee and
two years on the Government Relations Committee. In 1977, Mr. Derrick was
chosen by House Speaker Tip O'Neill to head the first task force on the
Budget Act and was recognized by the President in 1993 for his leadership as
Chairman of the task force charged with getting the historic 1993 tax bill
through the House of Representatives.
Mr. Derrick currently serves on the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board,
the South Carolina Nuclear Waste Program's Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel, and
the Department of Energy Task Force on the Evaluation of Nonproliferation
Programs with Russia. He is a member of the Washington Institute of Foreign
Affairs, the Center for National Policy, the National Trust Council of the
National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the U.S. Association of Former
Members of Congress. Mr. Derrick has published numerous articles and reports on nuclear waste and legislative procedures.
Douglas Schloss:
Douglas Schloss joined the Entrust board of directors in August 2001. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Rexford Management, Inc. which manages a 500 million dollar investment partnership specializing in transaction arbitrage. Prior to his current role, Mr. Schloss managed the equity trading desk and arbitrage investment portfolio of Marcus Schloss & Co., Inc., a broker dealer and formerly a New York Stock Exchange specialist firm. He is also responsible for designing an options analytics software package that was purchased by Reuters PLC and is currently in use on all major option exchanges.
Douglas Schloss is currently the Chairman of the Board of St. Christopher-Ottilie a 105 million dollar New York City based social services charity. It is one of the 10 largest social services charities in the United States and the second largest in New York City. Previously, Mr. Schloss was the Chairman of the Board of Family Dynamics for 6 years, a child abuse prevention program.
He is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He spent three years as a petroleum engineer with Hamilton Brothers Oil Company prior to receiving his M.B.A from Harvard Business School in 1985.
Michael P. Ressner:
Mr. Ressner has served on Entrust's board of directors since May 1999. He has served as Vice President, Nortel Networks since January 2001. Prior to that time, Mr. Ressner served as Vice President of Finance of Nortel Networks Enterprise Solutions group from February 1999 to January 2001. From May 1994 to January 1999, Mr. Ressner served as Vice President of Finance for the Carrier Solutions business unit of Nortel Networks. Prior to these assignments, Mr. Ressner held a number of senior finance management posts within various business units of Nortel Networks.
Edward O. Vetter:
Mr. Vetter joined the Entrust board in December 2002, following a distinguished career spanning more than five decades in leadership roles ranging from a Major in the U.S. Army, production engineer with Standard Oil of California, and executive vice-president and CFO at Texas Instruments, Inc. He also served as U.S. Undersecretary of Commerce, Energy Advisor to the Governor of Texas, and Chairman, Texas Department of Commerce.
A mechanical engineering graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Mr. Vetter's previous board roles have included Western Co. of North America, AMR Corporation, Champion International, Cabot Corporation, Dual Drilling Company, May Petroleum, and Pioneer Natural Resources. From 1979-1988 he chaired the Nuclear Engineering Visiting Committee as a trustee for MIT.
Anthony E. Hwang, Ph.D.
Anthony E. Hwang is the Chief Operating Officer of the A&E Group, an Asian based multi-activity business group. Prior to joining A&E, Dr. Hwang obtained extensive experience in research and development and held various management positions in his 12-year career at Bell Laboratories and at AT&T. Dr. Hwang has been an advisor to Wytec management since 1997 and was elected to Wytec's Board of Directors in April 2001. Dr. Hwang earned a Doctorate in Theoretical Physics at the University of Texas.
Jerry C. Jones
Jerry C. Jones, age 48, joined the Entrust Board of Directors in December, 2003. He serves as Acxiom Corporation's Business Development and Legal Leader. At Acxiom, he is responsible for the Legal Team, leads the strategy and execution of mergers and alliances, and assists in other strategic initiatives.Mr. Jones came to Acxiom in March 1999 from the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, where for 19 years he specialized in problem solving and business litigation. He is a 1980 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Arkansas.
