Q. Can I send a resume and be considered for any position - current or future?
A. No. You must specify a current position and reference the Department Number found in the on-line job description.

Q. Do I need to submit a resume every time I want to apply for a position?
A. Yes. Remember to reference the specific Department Number and title of each position which are found in the on-line job description.

Q. Can I submit a resume for more than one position at a time?
A. Yes.

Q. Can I submit my resume electronically?
A. We prefer that you submit a hard copy and any samples of work, where applicable. Please include the Department Number and position title in your cover letter. Q. How will I know if my resume has been received?
A. You will be sent an acknowledgement card upon receipt of your resume.

Q. How long does it take to fill a position?
A. The length of time will vary from position to position. Once your resume is received it will be evaluated by a recruiter to determine if your experience meets the job requirements and hiring specifications. If so, your resume will be forwarded to the hiring manager for review. If an interview is desired, you will be contacted.

Q. How do I know if a position has been filled?
A. Only currently available positions appear on the on-line job listing. If you interviewed for a position and were not selected, you will be contacted by a recruiter.

Q. How long will my resume be kept on file?
A. Resumes are kept for one year.

Q. Your job posting asked for samples. What kind and how many?
A. When responding to an editorial position, please submit 3 published writing samples. When responding to a design position, please submit 4-5 examples of applicable design work. Please send copies - as samples will not be returned.

Q. I am a student. What courses do I need to take to get a job at Meredith Corporation?
A. You'll need to visit with your counselor/advisor to determine what aspect of the media business you are interested in pursuing. We employ nearly all business disciplines, as well as those suited specifically to magazine/book publishing, broadcasting, interactive media and integrated marketing.
