- I need legal advice / help with my case. Is there someone who can help me?
* Yes. You may contact the Self Service Center at (561) 355-7048. It is located in Room 2.2209 in the Main Courthouse. The Center is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Service is also available at the South, West, North and Mid County Branch locations.
- If the respondent moves to another state can I still pursue child support?
* Yes, you can file Pro Se or contact the Department of Revenue for assistance in filing an out of state case.
An income deduction order was signed directing payments through the Clerk’s office. How can I have this issued? *Upon receipt of employer information, the Clerk’s office will send a Notice to Payor to the employer.
Do I have to get an income deduction order every time there is a change of employment? * If no changes have been made to the regular support amount a new income deduction order is not necessary. Upon receipt of the new employer information, the Clerk’s office will send a Notice to Payor to the new employer. However, if there are any changes in the amount to be paid through the court, such as; child support or alimony, payment on the balance, payment on attorney’s fees, etc., a corresponding Income Deduction Order must be filed with the Clerk to take action.
How do I get help in enforcement of support? (Ex-spouse not paying any money to me.) *Contact the Department of Revenue at 1-800-622-5437 or visit their web site as listed on the Family Support main page. Also you may visit the Self Help Center or consult with an attorney.
