New York, NY - June 16, 2003 - WorldNow affiliates, WQAD-TV, KVBC-TV and WATE-TV, have each been awarded the 2003 Edward R. Murrow Award by the Radio-Television Broadcasters Association (RTNDA). Named after the late Edward R. Murrow, a legend in broadcast news, this award honors outstanding achievements in electronic journalism and is as such one of the most prestigious awards to be bestowed upon the industry.
WQAD-TV was recognized twice, winning both the Edward R. Murrow National and Regional awards for the best TV news Web site, while KVBC-TV and WATE-TV were also each honored with regional awards for their sites.

"The RTNDA awards and the increasing industry recognition that local TV sites are receiving is a testament to the growth of broadcast journalism on the Web," said Gary Gannaway, CEO of WorldNow. "WorldNow is honored to have WQAD, KVBC, and WATE as its partners and will continue to help our stations develop the best news sites on the Web."
According to data from Nielsen Netratings, the WorldNow Network has experienced a growth of 57 percent in unique visitors since May 2002.
