Teaching Teachers to Manage
Globally, the field of language teaching has been expanding rapidly over the past twenty years. This growth has created not only a demand for language teachers, but also a demand for managers of language teaching centers and organizations. As in many fields, managers are often recruited from among an organization's outstanding employees. In many cases, these employees are teachers. While these teacher-managers are often excellent teachers, they may not be successful or well-prepared managers.

"I feel I understand many of the things I am doing in my work much better, and I am certainly going to implement some change upon my return as a result of the new insights and knowledge I gained at the course"

President of Academic Affairs, Entrepreneurship Business College, Zagreb, Croatia

The International Diploma in Language Teaching Management (IDLTM) addresses this need. It offers teachers and new managers alike the skills they need to bridge the gap from classroom to business management. The training course was jointly designed by the School for International Training (USA), the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (UK), and the University of Queensland (Australia), making it a truly portable, globally recognized qualification.

The course is delivered in a blended face-to-face and online format and covers the following areas:

  • Organizational Management
  • Financial Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Marketing
  • Customer and Client Care
  • Academic Management
  • Two locally specific "elective" modules
