Ventura County has 43 miles of ocean front and three boat harbors with over 3,000 boat slips and 450 homes. It is also the gateway to the Channel Islands. The Los Padres National Forest takes up most of the northern half of the county. There are two major lakes which are Lake Casitas and Lake Piru.

One way to learn more about Ventura County is to look at the Ventura County Star the local newspaper. The Ventura County Star has an "Online Edition," "Camarillo," "Oxnard," "Conejo Valley," "Ventura," and "Simi Valley." editions

There are 6 different micro-climates in the County. Agricultural products of the county, which include lemons, strawberries, flowers, vegetables and seeds are sold through out the world.
