This Enchanted Mountain rising 11,918 feet above the
valley is a wonderland of lush pine forests. Traveling
through six of the seven ecological life zones found on
the North American continent is a journey from the low desert
creosote floor, dating back 10,000 years, to rugged barren
mountain tops, home of the Bristlecone Pine, dating to 7,000
Years. An easy nature trail walk to the famous 'Robbers
Roost' hideout gives us a chance to explore some of the
beautiful flora of this area. And a trip to the mountains
wouldn't be complete without a stop at the Mt. Charleston
Lodge for lunch and perhaps a cup of their famous Mt.
Charleston Coffee.
