WEB DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS - LEVELS I &
II
Learn how to design a web site with intuitive navigation to make
browsing a breeze, attract more visitors to your site and get them
to spend more time on your website. Learn about information chunking
and how to keep continuity throughout your website. When do you
use relative links instead of absolute links? Should you use frames?
How long should a web page be? What are the critical elements which
should be on each page? When should you use pop-up windows or open
a link in a new window? Will the site look the same in all browsers.
All aspects of designing a website that makes it user friendly are
covered here.
Once you've mastered the basics of design, it's on to the next
step of learning the more technical side of things with regard to
servers, browsers, evaluation tools and analysis. Learn how to interview

MICROSOFT FRONTPAGE 2002
FrontPage 1802 is the government standard for an HTML generating

Macromedia Flash MX is the "must have tool" used by over

the latest release of the Flash application, Macromedia has given

components, and has made ActionScript, Flash's Object Oriented Programming

MACROMEDIA FIREWORKS 4.0 + IMAGE READY
Fireworks and ImageReady allow you to quickly slice up your graphics,
add HTML code, manipulate animated GIFs and create functional web
pages. In this module students will learn how to create simple animations,
decrease their workload by auto slicing pages and setting rollovers,
and also create simple web pages. Photoshop users will have little

SYSTEMS ANALYSIS
Without question, the single most import part of being a computer
programmer is determining just what it is that you want to create.
Writing a computer program is every bit aS complicated as the construction

DATABASE DESIGN
Nearly all computer programs interact with a database of some sort.
Proper database design is crucial to a successful project. Although
MySql will be the database that will be used, we will be teaching

Today’s computer industry is a multi-tiered environment. The
various layers are evolving into separate rolls as follows;
The presentation Tier – Often called the ‘front
end’ or the ‘client’. This is what the user actually
sees and interacts with. Today it is mainly web browsers, but with
the increasing use of palm pilots and cell phones for Internet access,
programmers will need to know how to present their applications
on a variety of devices.
The Communication Tier – Handles all the
traffic between the client and the application. Dealing with such

databases). Final layer of security against the data itself. The
repository of all the information that the application uses.
