SUMMIT COUNTY - Why we come and why we stay....

Approaching Summit County from any direction treats the visitor to breathtaking views and crisp clean air. We are located just 67 miles from Denver with year round scenery that rivals any area of the world.

Summit County is rich in history. Pioneers arrived here as far back as the 1870's, when the Colorado Gold Rush was just beginning. Historical structures and museums offer tours to recapture the feel of the good old days. Which brings me to the point of why we come here and why we stay. Take the time to talk to the long time locals. Stories are frequent of the person arriving for a quick visit or a ski season and still being here twenty years later. The ambiance just holds your feet on the snow and the trails covered with wild flowers and the rivers and streams year after year with no desire to leave. Just ask me - call me or e-mail with questions. Let me be your long time local connection.

Four world class ski areas are located in Summit County - Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone, with Vail, Beaver Creek and Ski Cooper in Leadville less than an hour's drive away. Along with the powdery alpine skiing, winter activities abound with cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and dog sledding, ice skating, ballooning, snowshoeing and tubing. The Silverthorne and Breckenridge Recreation Centers offer state of the art facilities.

Summer is so wonderful here with miles of mountain or road biking on bike paths or offroad trails. Hiking, fishing and boating are excellent. Music and Film festivals bring the fun and the famous to us every year. Did I mention golf? Five challenging courses from which to choose. Golf season runs from Mid-May through Mid-October.

Summit County is a full service area with Medical Centers, Colorado Mountain College, factory outlet stores, groceries and retail galore. We have a wonderful array of restaurants and boutique shops. Full legal, medical and dental services are right here.

Looking at the big picture - if we don't have it here -you probably don't need it! Come and visit and stay for a long time! [see more...]
