Golf Car Policy

For 2003 and beyond, it is necessary that LMS prohibit the use of non-licensed motorized vehicles, such as golf cars, on speedway property. Individuals or companies requesting use of such vehicles, whether owned or rented, will be denied. Only golf carts used by speedway personnel, direct sponsors and vendors who service food or souvenir operations will be permitted. Licensed golf cars, whether gas powered or electric, will be treated as any other licensed automobile, meaning these vehicles will not be allowed open access to LMS property. They will only have access to a parking space. No ATVs, dirt bikes, mules, and the like will be permitted on LMS property. Buses are available on event days to transport fans from the parking areas and campgrounds to the perimeter road which surrounds the facility. Trams run continuously on the perimeter road and stop at each gate. For individuals requesting additional assistance, golf car shuttles will transport fans from various parking area locations onto the concourse and to the requested grandstands and sections. The golf car shuttles are limited, so please be patient with the drivers as they make an effort to serve everyone. As always, the physically impaired will be permitted to use purpose-built, single-person, motorized vehicles. Permit or proof of insurance will not be required. The decision to mandate these requirements is based in an effort to provide a safer environment for everyone attending events at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Accidents and injuries to fans have increased greatly over the years as the numbers of vehicles have increased. In 2003, the following measures will be taken for non-licensed motorized vehicles/golf cars:

  • Vehicles will be impounded upon entry onto speedway property and returned to the owners at the end of the event.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
