Mission Statement
The mission of the Microfilm Department is to convert all Clerk of the Circuit Court permanent records on to microfilm. This process allows for easy access and retrieval by the public and other departments within the Clerk's Office, while reducing the amount of storage space needed.
Working together as a team, our goal is to produce the highest quality microfilm in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Functions
The Micrographics Department microfilms all records which are required by Florida Statutes to be retained and stored permanently. The records are filmed and after the negatives are processed they undergo a series of inspections for quality. Once the film negative passes these rigid standards, a working copy is printed and is sent to the respective department for their use. The negative is then packaged and sent to the Records Management Department for short term storage. Later, the negative film is sent to the National Underground Storage facility in Pennsylvania for permanent safekeeping.
