We offer a number of placements to undergraduates at our headquarters and operations centre in Exeter. The type of placement varies and can be arranged so you learn skills in a specific area, or just as your first encounter with the world of business.

48-week industrial placement

These placements are aimed at students for whom a year in industry is a requirement of their university course. Students will gain an insight into how the Met Office works, as well as experience of value to other potential employers once you graduate.

One- to three-month summer placement

We welcome applications for undergraduates wishing to spend up to three months of their summer holiday working with us and gaining useful, transferable skills.

The closing date for applications is 31 January of the year for which you wish to undertake your placement.
