The Library of the Chicago Botanic Garden is one of the oldest elements of the Garden, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2001. With approximately 25,000 books and periodicals, the collections of the Library specialize in the literature of horticulture and botany, with an emphasis on topics including general gardening, Midwest ecology, plant conservation and horticultural therapy.
