March of Dimes Online Privacy Policy

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. The March of Dimes web site provides information, resources, referrals and data intended to assist the public in having healthy pregnancies and healthy births. The web site also provides information for health care professionals and offers opportunities for volunteering in March of Dimes fundraising events.

Our privacy policy applies to the March of Dimes National Office web site only. Independent chapter and event sites may be governed by different policies and you are advised to review the policy on each site that you visit.

Personal data such as your name, address and payment information may be collected for the purpose of responding to specific questions, advising visitors of new online material, activities and events, and offering opportunities for contributing to local and national programs and research initiatives.   The March of Dimes will not rent or exchange your e-mail address with third parties without your permission.   Our web server recognizes consumer domain names for the purpose of analyzing web site access and improving the content of our web site.  Online donations to the March of Dimes are processed over a secure connection between your computer and this server. Credit card information is encrypted when submitted to the processor and will not be shared with any third parties other than the processor.

Individual requests to the March of Dimes Pregnancy and Newborn Health Education CenterSM (the "Center") through the Center page are strictly confidential. Personal data such as your e-mail address, telephone number, address, age and gender may be collected in order to respond to your specific request for information. Records regarding the nature of individual inquiries to the Center are used to create aggregate reports for internal use only and are purged after 1 calendar year from the date of inquiry. The Center does not distribute your personal information to third parties.

The Genetics & Your Practice®, Perinatal Nursing Education and WalkAmerica® pages have separate privacy policies and we advise you to review these policies as you navigate our site.

Our privacy policy is subject to change without notice.  Therefore, we recommend that you check this web page periodically for updates and revisions. This privacy policy is in effect as of the date below.
