Master of Arts in Sustainable DevelopmentSIT's Master of Arts in Sustainable Development prepares graduates for positions as consultants, project managers, and administrators in international and community based organizations whose efforts achieve a more equitable and sustainable use of the world's wealth and natural resources. The program provides a comprehensive education in issues of development, including competing theories and alternative approaches to practice, as it develops competencies in program planning, proposal writing, policy advocacy and training. Special attention is given to the role of nonprofits, nongovernmental organizations, and other civil society institutions as catalysts and providers of people-centered development programs and as actors influencing the formulation of public and corporate policies that affect the lives of their constituencies. As the graduate school of World Learning, a leading international development organization, SIT is uniquely qualified to prepare professionals with the capacity to help communities around the globe meet their needs and ensure their future.
