How do I get around in Las Vegas?

Visit our transportation pages, /transportation.html, where you'll find information about shuttles, taxis, CAT buses, and more.

How do I get around on the Strip?

There are a few ways to move around on the Strip: by foot, by bus, by monorail, by shuttle and by taxicab.

  • Walking is one of the most popular means of traveling the Vegas Strip. Crosswalks remain the best way to cross the street, but a few elevated walkways are available that will save you the wait for a walk sign and the dangers of city traffic. You'll find them on the Vegas Strip between the Tropicana, New York-New York, the MGM and the Excalibur at Las Vegas Blvd. and Tropicana, between the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, the Barbary Coast and Bally's at Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo and between Mirage and the Venetian. There are escalators and elevators up to the walkway. Once there, there are no mechanical devices across, though the distance is only as far as the physical street below.

  • Public buses have routes that travel the Strip. Vegas.com has information on the CAT bus system and links to their schedules at /transportation/buses.html. The Vegas Strip routes are 301 and 302.

  • There is a monorail between the Mirage and Treasure Island, another between the Excalibur, the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. The Las Vegas Monorail has stops at the MGM Grand, Bally's / Paris, Flamingo, Harrah's / Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Vegas Hilton and the Sahara. The tram between the Monte Carlo and Bellagio is temporarily closed due to construction at Bellagio.

  • Some casinos also offer free shuttle rides. You can find these listed under individual casinos at /resorts/. Just click on the resort-casino you're interested in and scroll down to the category "Shuttles" to see whether the casino offers the service.

  • All Strip casinos have a pick-up area for cabs where patrons wait in line for the next available vehicle. There's no need to call a taxi, but expect longer waits on busier weekends.

How much is a taxi from McCarran International Airport to the Las Vegas Strip?

The cost depends on traffic and your precise destination on the Strip. The range is $8-$20. Some airport shuttles will take you over the same ground for $4 - see /transportation/shuttles.html for more information.

For hotels not on the Strip or Downtown, you should contact the hotel and find out what form of transportation they recommend. Many will have shuttles or other services for their guests. Check out Vegas.com Resorts for phone numbers: /resorts.

What do I need to get married or renew my vows in Las Vegas?

Vegas.com Weddings has everything you need to know about marriage in Las Vegas - chapels, limousine and formal wear rentals, famous Vegas weddings and more: http:www.vegas.com/weddings. For legal requirements, Click here.

Do you have _____________ in your rooms?

You can find all about hotels in Las Vegas, including a list of amenities, at /resorts.

How do I confirm a room reservation, cancel a reservation, or change a reservation that I booked on your site?

You can handle all of these problems by clicking here. If you have already exhausted your online options and still need help, call 1-800-431-2140.

What is the legal age for gambling? Are minors allowed in hotel-casinos?

You must be 21 years old to gamble in a casino in Vegas. Most casinos will let you walk through on the way to your destination (restaurants, shops, shows) if you are younger than 21, but you may not stop or sit down. The Bellagio has the strictest policy: no one younger than 21 is allowed inside the hotel unless they are a registered guest. And that includes babies in strollers.

What can I do in Vegas besides gamble? How can I amuse my children while we are in Vegas?

Please allow Vegas.com to guide you to all the non-gaming pleasures of Vegas. This way to the Vegas.com Attractions Guide. Or go directly to the family fun section.

May I link to your website?

You may link to Vegas.com, but you may not copy content from Vegas.com for use on your website.

What's the e-mail address (website) for (Paris, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, etc)? What is the phone number?

Most hotel-casinos do not have e-mail addresses for general use. Vegas.com has contact information (phone numbers and addresses) for all of the Strip hotels at /resorts/.

Do you have a map of Vegas online?
