Our lessons run 1-2 hours and are $35.00 per hour.
They are broken down into 4 categories:
Photoshop
& ImageReady Lessons
Photo Restoration - 2 hours
Using Photoshop to clean up old or damaged photographs. Use of
the clone stamp tool, color correction, desaturation blur and
unsharp mask tools will be covered in this class.
Image Sizing, Resolutions, and what it all means - 1 hour
Learning about image sizes and resolutions; when to alter the
image, how to do it in the Photoshop environment, and how to clean
it up after Photoshop has changed it.
Basic Painting Tools - 2 hours
This course is intended to help students get a familiarity with
each of Photoshop's Painting tools and the strengths and weaknesses
of each. Concepts such as opacity and painting with patterns will
be discussed.
Selection Tools and Layers - 2 hours
Using Photoshop's most powerful and often overlooked features,
this course will provide an in depth look at working with layers
and selections with an emphasis on image compositing.
Photoshop Basics - 1 hour
What is Photoshop? What can it be used for? This course will provide
a basic overview of the features and uses for the world's leading
image editing software.
History States - 1 hour
Learning how to work with Photoshop's history states. Far more
than a series of "undos" the history states allow you
to work form different snapshots of the image, and explore multiple
design avenues at the same time.
Creating Web Pages From Images - 2 hours
Slicing and dicing. This course will cover image slicing and creating
web pages in Imageready from your Photoshop ideas or any PC image
file. This will also cover the creation of animated gifs and button
rollovers for use in a webpage.
Text along a Path - 1 hour
Working with Illustrator students will learn the basics of setting
type, and placing them along a path for artistic effect.
Placing and Filling Type - the Type Mask and Text tools - 2
hours
Using Photoshop students will learn how to set and move text,
apply warping effects, rasterize, and clean up very small text.
Also covered will be filling and outlining text with patterns
and colour fills.
Exploring Photoshop Effects 2 hours
Explore drop shadow techniques, Bevel and emboss, Outer &
Inner Glow , gradient overlay, pattern overlay, color overlay,
stroke, and satin. Working with Photoshop layer effects is an
exciting way to expand a new users skill-set. This lesson
is a guide to understanding and gaining control of the layer effects
for professional results.
Banner Ad Design (for experienced PS users) 1.% hours
The lesson begins with an introduction to proper banner design
to capture the attention of users. By understanding traditional
design concepts, students will have a stronger understanding for
the design and layout of their advertisement banners(half hour).
The next part of the lesson includes a brief overview of the standard
dimensions for banners used throughout the internet. (Three standard
banner sizes in total) (15 min) The last part of the lesson is
designing a banner using basic colors, text, and photos. (45min)
Real World Shadow Casting 1 hour
Although photoshop does include a powerful tool for drop shadowing
an object, this method is not always the solution for a realistic
casted shadow. Using masking, and blurring techniques, students
will learn how to cast a real shadows. By the end of the lesson
students will understand lighting direction, its virtual
intensity, and how to cast multiple shadows according the given
number of light souces. This is an excellent lesson for anyone
wanting to add real dimension to a product displayed on their
pages.
The Actions Pallette 1 hour
This lesson demonstrates the power of the Actions command and
how it can make life easier, faster, and automated. The Actions
pallette is a built in recording studio that records your every
move. Once you have finished recording any Photoshop steps, you
can then save the recording as an action, then run the action
to any subsequent images or elements of those images you may choose.
Creating animated GIFs 1.5 hours
The lesson includes understandings of the animated GIF function
in Adobe Image Ready. Using frame by frame tweening transitions,
students will create their very own animated images.
Understanding Photoshop Layer Modes 1 hour
In addition to layering effects, photoshop also includes layering
modes. Understanding these powerfull modes, students will have
a greater understanding of how to blend images into each other
with a professional appearance. Layer modes include Multiply,
Overlay, Dissolve, Color Burn, Color Dodge, Screen and more..

Lessons
