Wat Yansangwararam. An impressive temple under the patronage of the Thai Royal Family about 17 km south of Pattaya. It is consisted of many decorative buildings with a large, scenic and tranquil lake and a hill. In addition to the classical Buddhist temples, here you can find the Royal Chinese Temple and Museum including one that looks like a Chinese Imperial Palace. Here you can practice meditation with a number of meditation masters and monks from 6 a.m. in the morning to 18:00 p.m. You can reach the top of the adjacent hill inside the compound with 200 steps where you can enjoy a serene atmosphere and see a large Buddha image carved on the mount of Kao Chee Chan. Bottle Art Museum The only one museum in the world, with unique specimen of more than 300 amazing miniatures in bottles, exhibited in a large, air-conditioned hall. The art was done exclusively by Mr. Pieter Bij de Leij, a Dutch craftsman, who dedicated about 14 hours a day for more than a decade. These miniatures in the bottles are temples, palaces, church and other renowned monuments. The museum opens every day from 9:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m. and it is at 145.30 on Sukhumvit Highway. Phra Tamnak Hill A vantagepoint to get the best panoramic view of the curved bay of Pattaya either in the day or at night. Easily reached by Pattaya Hill Road, it is located at the southern tip of the bay about 1.5 kilometres from the end of Pattaya 2 road. Before reaching the top, the road is forked. Turning right, you will get to the vantage point. Turning left, the road will take you to a small Buddhist temple. Outside the temple in the open air, there is a beautiful Buddha statue named Phra Buddha Sukhothai. Over 18 metres tall and over 10 metres across the lap, it is the largest Buddha image of Chon Buri Province. Nearby there is a statue of Admiral Prince Chumphon, the Father of Royal Thai Navy. |

About
7.5 km from Pattaya, there are 3 small islands well known for their
white sand, colorful corals and other forms of undersea life, which can be viewed
from glass-bottomed boats. Thousands of foreign tourists have visited these islands.
The largest of them is Ko Lan, 7.5 km from Pattaya Beach. There are boat
services operating between Pattaya Beach and Ko Lan several times a day. Each one-way trip
takes about 45 minutes by ordinary ferry while the long-tail speedboats
take around 15 minutes. Different types of accommodation are
available on the island. The other two islets, Ko Sak and Ko Khrok are a short
way from Ko Lan. They are smaller and quieter.
The elephant round-up at the Elephant
Village is literally a large
gathering of herds of elephants. These gigantic beasts
have long been the backbone of heavy work in the
jungles of Thailand. The thrilling
event includes spectacular demonstrations of
elephant capture; the daily life of elephants and their masters;
elephants being trained, worked and fed; elephant
riding and an ancient war, elephant dressed for
your photograph.
