If your debt is spread across several different creditors, it may be worth your while to look into consolidation. By combining several high interest debts into one low interest payment can potentially save you thousands of dollars and months or even years of creditor harassment.
If your debt consists of one large balance, contact the creditor to explore your options. Many credit card companies will reduce your interest rate or even offer to match your payments. The majority of these credit companies are run by reasonable people who realize that it is in their best interest to help you to repay a portion of your debt rather than risk you not paying any of it.

You can live without credit. It will not be easy at first, but like any habit, once firmly rooted in your life, it will become natural.
