Rich in spectacular natural beauty, Krabi offers an excess of attractive tourist spots and activities. Its splendid beaches with iridescent aquamarine waters together with its picturesque islands are the highlight among others. However, Krabi has much more things to offer, the historical sites which trace the province's exuberance in the past are all worth visiting. The lush and green areas in Krabi are also fascinating; they are a source of province's fertility, creating the way of life of people here.

    Beaches

Lying along the Andaman coast, Krabi offers several striking beaches, making them the ideal place for swimming and sunbathing in the tranquil atmosphere. Each beach possesses its original beauty and offers the basic facilities for tourists. These are the principal beaches of which the charm is incontestable.

Hat Noppharat Thara is located eighteen kilometers northwest of Krabi in the boundary of Hat Noppharat Thara National Marine Park. The beach is praised for its breathtaking scenery. Its name means "the Nine Gemmed Streams", given by Field Marshal Sarit, one of Thailand's Prime Ministers who found the remarkable beauty of the beach. In the old days, this area used to be the hidden shelter for pirates due to its dozens of caves and cliffs covering the beach. The beach stretches for two kilometers with its white fine sand and the scenically magnificent cliffs and limestone islands springing up offshore in the bright aquamarine water. Due to its striking environs, this one is the favorite beach among Thais, and the construction of a new royal residence is to be built for His Majesty the King in this area.

Hat Noppharat Thara is easily accessible. Songtaews (local minibus) are available every fifteen minutes from town. The beach can be also reached by boat from the tourist pier in Krabi.

Ao Nang Beach is a palm-fringed beach, fronted by accommodation, guesthouse, dive shops and restaurants. The accommodations on the beach offer the picturesque panorama of mountains and sea. Despite the rapid growth of tourism, the beach itself is still quite striking. It is the ideal place for sunbathing and sunbathing.

Pranang Beach is a long and beautiful stretch of sand, located just the south of Hat Noppharat Thara. The beach is visited for its and its clear and clean waters. The Soaring limestone islands and cliffs create the picturesque backdrop. Hat Pranang is a full service beach, providing a wide variety of water sports, accommodations, and restaurants. Additionally, the abundant coral reefs and a wide variety of marine life make Hat Pranang excellent for scuba diving. In recent years, Hat Pranang has gained more fame for its new challenging activity, top-notch rock climbing. This kind of challenging and adventurous activity approximately attracts 300 climbers a day. The beach can be accessible by road; most transportation is found in Krabi town.

Tham Pranang Beach is one of the most popular destinations for travelers for its secluded atmosphere. The beach is composed of white fine sand and transparent waters as well as its stunning jagged karsts. Its extreme pristine nature lures a great deal of visitors a year. Nearby, the inner and outer Pranang Caves as well as Pranang Lagoon are located, offering the incredibly spectacular view. Despite the fact that the beach is reachable only by boat, the beach possesses accommodations which offer facilities and recreational activities both on the beach as well as in the vicinity. Tham Pranang Beach can be reached from town by long- tailed-boat at Chao Fah Pier or from Hat Pranang, and Phi Phi Island.

Rai Lay Beach is divided into two sections, East Rai Lay Beach and Western Rai Lay Beach. West Rai Lay offers more fascinating view with its towering limestone cliffs and densely unspoiled jungle which conceals wondrous stalactites and stalagmites in caves; its water is clean and clear. Although it has less to offer in terms of facilities, its quiet and peaceful surroundings can compensate for that. Across the peninsular form West Rai Lay beach locates East Rai Lay Beach. This beach is distinct from the other beaches in the area in that it could be classified as mud flat, especially at the low tide. Despite that, it does offer the remarkably distinguished views. On the end of the beach is covered with mangrove trees, backed up by the picturesque panorama of mountains and islands.
Both West and East Rai Lay Beaches can be reached y boat from Krabi's Chao Fah Pier, taking about 45 minutes to reach the beach.
