The Price of Gas is Huge! Can a Shell Credit Card Save Me Money?

With the need to commute to work becoming greater and greater, more people are turning to gasoline credit cards, such as Shell offers, to help save them a little money. If you are one of these people that commutes to and from work daily (sometimes a several hour drive! ) then you can benefit from a Shell card. Not only will it save you time (by allowing you to pay directly at the pump), but it will also save you money, as most cards offered by Shell have some kind of reduced rate on your gasoline purchases.

Perhaps the best benefit is the security and peace of mind it offers. You won't have to worry about running out of gas on your commute (or even on vacation, if you ever get one, right? ) and not having the cash to get more. Your credit card will be right there, allowing you to purchase the fuel you need, and pay for it later!

But Won't the Interest Rate on the Shell Credit Card Cost Me More?

If you think about it logically, you will find that it will not. Let us look at it this way... If you could not save money using the Shell card, then why would you get one? The answer is, you wouldn't! So, by allowing you to save money, Shell is actually making more money than they typically would, thanks to your increased business. It is a win-win situation, where both consumer and provider benefit. Some Shell credit cards have an interest rate, others do not, but one and all, they will save you money.

Many of the cards they offer not only give you an immediate discount to the price you pay at the pump, but they also allow you to earn points towards rewards, such as completely free gasoline! So, you get to save money, and earn your way towards free products!

As a frequent commuter, you will benefit the most from a shell card. The more you use it, the more money you will save, and the more points you will accrue. Combine all these factors together and you could find yourself saving hundreds of dollars each year just on your gasoline expenses!

How Am I Billed for My Shell Credit Card?

You are billed just like a normal credit card. Once per billing cycle (typically 1 month), you will receive a statement. You will have the choice of paying the minimum payment, or paying more. Keep in mind, this card does have a credit limit. You cannot charge infinite amounts of gasoline. So, if you wish to continue using it, you should try to pay off the full balance every month.

It may seem like you are paying more (because you pay it all in one lump sum), but if you break it down you will find that you are still saving a considerable amount. Also, be aware that it may only show you saving $10 00 per month, but when you multiply that by 12 months, you will be saving $120 00 a year! That is a pretty hefty saving!
