Let face it not all real estate agents in Las Vegas are created equal. Just like not all doctors, teachers or builders in Nevada have the same abilities as others. Buying a home in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin or anywhere in Nevada is probably the most expensive investment you will ever make. The wrong advice can cost you thousands of dollars. I have seen it happen. Mr. Buyer comes in looks for homes for sale in X Neighborhood because that was the flavor of the month community that his real estate agent showed him. Mr. Agent didn’t bother to check and see if there were any construction defects in that development before recommending it and Mr. Buyer purchased a home for 300k. Then 6 months later Mr. Buyer finds out there is a law suit going on against the builder which in turn drives the property prices way down. Now Mr. Buyer is holding a property worth less then what he paid for it. This can be avoided with choosing the right Las Vegas real estate agent.
Another example would be. You use Mortgage company X. After the mortgage company issues you a good faith estimate. You are just not sure whether the rate you got and the fee’s you were charged are fair. Needless to say whether or not the loan program the mortgage company wants to put you in is the right one for you. So you decide, well let me ask my real estate agent if he or she thinks it’s a good deal, they are in the business… Well what do you think most agents are going to say...NO?... I don’t think so.
