Existing users log in

Step 2.

Enter you current username in the 'User ID:' box, and your current password in the 'Password' box.

Step 3.

If you want to be able to bookmark the new aviation briefing service index page without having to go through the login screen each time, click the 'Remember me next time I logon' box. See Q5 above for more details.

Step 4.

Click on the 'Logon' button. If you see a page titled 'Online services: current subscriptions', containing a yellow panel headed 'Aviation briefing service (free)', then your login has been successful. Proceed to the next step (Step 5, below).

If you see a red message saying 'Invalid user name and password combination' then there has been a problem logging in with your existing details. Proceed to Q2. How do I find out my username/password? below to find out what to do next.

Step 5.

To launch the free service, click on the 'LAUNCH!' button. This will take you to the index page for all the free products, and samples of the subscription products.

If you are returned to the 'Online services: Customer login' page, then you should ensure that you have cookies enabled on your internet browser. See our FAQ for more details and instructions.

 Q 2. How do I find out my username/password?

Step 1.

To confirm your username and receive a new password by e-mail, use the 'Password retrieval' link on the login page. You should enter the e-mail address you specified when you originally registered as an aviation user. You will also need to have access to this e-mail account, so that you can retrieve your username and new password.

After clicking 'Retrieve password', there are two possible outcomes:

1. You see a message on the page saying:
'The email address you entered was not found in our records. Please contact the customer centre'

In this case, we do not have a record of the e-mail address you entered. You will therefore need to register for the new service. Proceed to Q3. How do I register? below.

2. You see a new page saying:

'USERNAME AND NEW PASSWORD SENT SUCCESSFULLY'.
In this case, check your e-mail account for a message called 'new login details for your metoffice.gov.uk account'. This e-mail will confirm the username that is registered to the e-mail you provided, and provide you with a new password (for security reasons).

Step 2.

Once you receive your new password, you will probably want to change it to something more memorable. To do this, log in using the username and password provided in the e-mail.

Step 3.

Click on the 'Change password' link in the dark green bar near the top of the 'Online services: Current subscriptions' launch page.

Step 4.

Enter the existing password, and the new password, then click 'Update' to confirm the changes.

Step 5.

Click 'Return to current subscriptions page' to return to the launch page, and click the 'LAUNCH!' button to continue to the aviation briefing service index page.
 Q 3. How do I register?
