Joint Postgraduate Diploma-Master's Degree

Photo of Participants at SIT with Paul Ventura (right).In addition to earning the Postgraduate Diploma in NGO Leadership and Management, students who wish to earn a full master's degree can apply credits earned from the diploma towards a Master's in Intercultural Leadership, Service and Management offered by School for International Training (SIT).

Diploma students who have completed their coursework and fieldwork are eligible to apply their credits towards the master's program. The remaining credits are completed through intensive study, field research and a semester of residence at SIT in the following sequence:

Phase I:
All requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in NGO Leadership & Management

Phase II:
Three weeks (August-September), BRAC Centre for Development Management

Phase III:
Three months (October-December), participant's own NGO or equivalent

Phase IV:
Four months (February-May), SIT:

  • Additional coursework (e.g., Intercultural Communication for NGO Managers; Current Issues in Sustainable Development; Strategic Management)
  • Completion of capstone research paper
  • Capstone Seminar (final two weeks)
