Civil Society and Social Change

Empowering citizens, institutions, and communities to build democracy and create social change.

Photo.WLID's work in strengthening civil society empowers those who most need to be heard on matters of poverty alleviation, community development, human rights, and the full range of issues on which political leaders must be held accountable by their citizens. The participation of citizen groups in decision-making remains more an idea than a practice in many countries, but with WLID's help, this is slowly changing.
