Sabah, Borneo Diving Sites

Nothing beats scuba diving in Borneo. There are loads of premier dive destinations which offer underwater sights. If you can name it, then there's a destination in Borneo that has it; from macro life to pelagics, wreck diving to wall diving, coral gardens teeming with a rich diversity of corals and fish, underwater caves where sleepy sharks go to chill out, and caverns where turtles go to die...Borneo diving has it all.

Sipadan Island and Layang Layang are the most popular and well known dive destinations. Some 3,000 species were first found and classified while diving fabulous sites in Malaysia such as Sipadan. Sangalaki and Lankayan are the latest hot destinations that offer frontier diving if you're looking for something new and fresh. Sangalaki is especially well known for manta ray sightings, while Lankayan has whale shark sightings. Labuan is famed throughout Asia for its wreck diving. Mabul and Kapalai are world renowned destinations for muck diving.

Peninsular Malaysia Dive Sites

If you're short on time and want some top class diving while on a stopover in Malaysia, diving on the peninsula is the best option for you to consider. There are a number of locations around the Peninsula, which are all just one flight away from Kuala Lumpur.

The most famous diving destinations in Peninsular Malaysia are the Perhentian Islands and Redang Island. Here, some spectacular dive sites and marine life await the intrepid diver. Langkawi, a duty free island, offers some interesting diving activity. Tioman Island, on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia has some fantastic pristine coral reefs and wreck diving. And finally, the best kept secret among the Malaysia diving community, the little island of Tenggol which has arguably the best diving on the whole peninsula.
