Children's Partnership Criteria
Many magazines, newspapers, and organizations publish lists of "best Internet sites for kids." These can be useful resources. But keep in mind that Web sites frequently change their content and location, so review recommendations with care. Also remember that these publications usually don't distinguish between Web sites that are commercial and those that are not. This is an important distinction, since commercial Web sites contain advertising and marketing devices, some of which might be inappropriate for or exploitative of children. We suggest beginning with the many Web sites that are well-known, non-commercial, and educational, and we have limited our current links to educational, nonprofit, or government Web sites.
Every Web site recommended by The Children's Partnership is checked by at least two reviewers to ensure that the Web site is high quality, easy to use, and non-commercial. Many of the sites we link to have a broader range of links they provide, and the content may change often. The Children's Partnership cannot be responsible for the content or links of Web sites we suggest.
