As with any new business venture, you will want to take the time to do some thorough research on any and all MLM proposals you receive. Stay away from those businesses that employ pressure tactics to try to rush your decision -- if the company cannot stand up under thorough investigation, then most assuredly you do not want to be a part of it. Some MLM ventures are really pyramid scams, which specialize in filtering money from the ground level partners into the hands of the man on top.
Some of your best resources in this type of research include the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Multi-Level Marketing Association. Stay away from any company that uses the deceptive tactic of falsely announcing winners to contests in order to gain recruits, or companies that require their distributors to purchase an unusually large set of products without a money-back guarantee should you withdraw from their distributorship.
Mlm Home Business: Questions to Consider
Once you have identified a few legitimate MLM businesses, your next task is to research each company's history, growth, and product. How long have they been in business? What geographic area do they tend to do well in? How saturated is the market in your neighborhood? Do you like or are you interested in the products they sell? Can you get along with the persons above you that you will be reporting to on a regular basis?
Do you have enough space in your home to use a portion as a warehouse for their goods? Remember that you can contact other distributors to help give you some objective answers to these questions.
