Not many people, especially business owners are people who likes the administration part of a small business. Most of us would rather focus on getting more clients for our small business. Administration is like....you know, wasting time! But it's not. That's why some people handle personal assistants and secretaries - not because they have lots of spare cash, but because these things won't go away unless we deal with it.
As usual, I was trying to find short cuts to make my life as a small business owner easier - see if there was a magical wand I could buy for $5.99 to wave my piling paperwork into thin air. None of be found, of course. But I found inspiration to get down to the bottom of my administration related tasks.

With an open mind, a sing-song attitude and a mean sense of humor. Sometimes, sarcasm works like magic too, well, it could work out the be an alternative to the magic wand I was looking for. After all, I think I am sort of blessed with a wicked sense of humor. I could churn out niceties by the hour and sarcastic remarks by the second. You can tell.
Chatting with Your Friends While You Work on the Administration Part of Your Small Business.
You'll be surprised with the kind of things you can do when you're chatting with your friends. Just close the door to your office, call a friend, put the speaker phone on and then start filing your stuff. You won't even notice the time! This is possible because filing doesn't make you think.
My friend DID ask me why I was calling her a couple of times a week but that sure isn't going to stop me. I figured it really DID make filing more fun. In fact, I am looking forward to our next conversation already!
While You're Working, Take Time off to Think of Silly Things, Look at Pictures of Your Kids or Maybe Just Visiting Joke Sites.
You can print out jokes and read them while you filing things or simply answering emails. Put it one side or on a paper holder at the side of your monitor screen. This could take just 5 - 10 minutes and then right after that, your mind would be in a better state for the administration stuff. Your small business could benefit a whole lot from such simple things!

It sounds silly but it works! Even if accounting is not one of your favorite subjects in school, when you make it more fun this way, you make working on it less tedious.
