Review: The new Spa & Salon Bellagio, opening Dec. 17, offers guests 65,000 square feet of luxury and pampering.

The Zen-influenced design of the spa blends granite, travertine and onyx surfaces with reflecting pools, water walls and hand-blown glass decor.

The Spa Bellagio offers 54 treatment rooms in which to receive a variety of distinct services. Some of the unique options available include gem therapy, Thai Yoga massage, Ashiatsu (Shiatsu massage performed with the feet) and Watsu treatment -- a stretching massage performed in a special pool warmed to body temperature.

For the ultimate indulgence, try the Golden Experience, a treatment that leaves the body exfoliated, moisturized and shimmering with real gold dusted on the face and body.

The spa also caters to men with a special line of treatments. The men's spa also has a bonus -- its own outdoor relaxation balcony overlooking the pool.

For guests who are focused on fitness, a 6,000-square-foot fitness facility overlooking the pool offers treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers and Pilates equipment. The Bamboo Studio is a 1,000-square-foot exercise room complete with bamboo flooring that features classes ranging from Pilates to yoga to kickboxing.

For that final bit of relaxation before heading back to the real world, don't miss the meditation room. Water walls surround the room, and candles provide a warm glow. A mix of New Age music and sounds of nature complete the soothing environment. It's the perfect place to meditate, read or partake in the room's reflexology pebble walk.
