The Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre is situated
in a modern building on the Grand Canal Basin in Ringsend in the
south-east of Dublin city. The Centre houses an exhibition which
explores Ireland's inland waterways, their historical background
and their modern amenity uses.
The display, which includes examples of art and
literature inspired by the waterways and working models of
important engineering features, highlights the significance in
today's world of a network of inland waterways developed some 200
years ago. Navigation Charts and Guides are available for sale in
the Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre
