| Google has recently opened an R&D centre in Bangalore,
India our latest full-fledged engineering facility
outside the United States. We're looking to hire talented software
engineers, top programmers and visionary computer scientists.
The Google Bangalore R&D
centre is a full peer of our other engineering facilities: Mountain
View, Santa Monica, New York, Zurich and Tokyo. This office will
inherit Google's unique attributes:
- Charter to invent: Google
Bangalore's charter is to innovate, implement, and launch new
Google technologies and products to a global audience. Anything
is fair game and the team here gets to decide its agenda.
- Focus on computer science: Our
work here touches many fundamental areas of computer science,
including information retrieval, distributed systems, machine
learning, data mining, theoretical computer science, statistics
and user interfaces.
- Freedom to move: Google Engineering
will be one virtual campus extending around the world. Engineers
in Bangalore can relocate to other Google R&D centres worldwide.
- Technical ladder: Google
engineers can rise to the level of a VP purely based on technical
accomplishments. They do not have to get into management to
advance their careers.
- Quality of colleagues: Hiring
standards in India will be exactly the same as in the US. This
includes a rigorous, technical interview.

- B-Tech in Computer Science with at least 3 years of experience
(MS/Ph.D. a plus)
- Superb C/C++ programming skills.
- Extensive experience designing and programming large scale,

We are looking for promising System Administrators to support our
growing R&D; Centre in Bangalore, India. This requires supporting our
server infrastructure, desktops, phone systems, and engineers. Join
our global team and work with our world class System Administrators
and Engineers. Working in a demanding and fast-paced environment, you
will need exceptional technical acuity and individual initiative while
maintaining a user-centered attitude.
Requirements:
- Configure system and network parameters.
- Monitor stability and performance.
- Ensure 24x7 operation.
- Assist with corporate Linux desktop support.
- Write comprehensive documentation.
- Provide direct support for desktops/laptops and user access to corporate network and applications both on the network as well as through remote VPN access.
- Provide direct support for services such as office phones, cell phones, video conferencing, and remote access.
- Provide direct support for Google's corporate resources and applications.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience with Linux.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and load balancing.
- Working knowledge of security, webservers, NIS/NFS, MTAs.
- Programming/scripting (bash, perl, python).
- Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer service.
- Experience deploying and supporting cell phones, phone systems, video conferencing and various wireless devices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
