Casa Cubuy offers a less stressful alternative than the busy North side of the El Yunque Rainforest. This quiet retreat lies nearly at the top of the road on the south side of the mountain.

Casa Cubuy is perched on a hill above a river with many waterfalls. A short uphill trek from the house on a paved road brings you to the El Yunque National Forest.

Sailing and Snorkeling with Elena

From there you can walk the old road, with a couple of trails leading to other rivers. Easily walkable - through jungles of bamboo, palms and fern trees. Listen to the birds' songs. It is magical.

Pool at left is in the Cubuy River, just down the path from Casa Cubuy's balcony.

The waters at this elevation are clean enough to drink! and refreshing cool. Just above and below this pool (above) are waterfalls you can hear from your bedroom at night.

At right is an upstairs bedroom double with it's private balcony that overlooks the mountains and waterfalls. This room rents for $100. per night and a slightly larger version, with an additional two twin day beds, rents for $115. per night, for two people.
