Creative Use of Space

When kindergartners and first-graders at Kealakehe Elementary need to see counselor Arnie Taylor, they visit her in a closet.

Taylor's office is a five-foot by ten-foot space converted from a janitorial closet. Although she makes due, her situation reflects conditions at Kealakehe, Kahakai Elementary and Holualoa Elementary, where because of high student enrollment and the increase of student support programs and personnel, the three schools are forced to use every possible space creatively.
