Offline Advertising Can Increase Web Site Traffic
The amount of web site traffic that an online business has is very important. If no one sees your web site, you can not sell anything.
One of the main forms of advertising that an online business forgets about is offline advertising. A good marketing campaign combines offline and online advertising together.
Any marketing you do should include your web site address, your e-mail and/or auto-responder address, and if you have an e-zine, make sure you include the e-mail address to subscribe.
Methods of Offline Advertising to Increase Web Site Traffic
Try placing a classified ad in a printed publications that is computer or internet related. Local newspaper classified sections can work well too. Many of them have a category for Internet ads.
Create a flyer and put it in your local stores. They can be any type of store that will allow you to post it on their window or bulletin board. Make the flyer colorful so that it stands out to get attention.
Mailing lists can be fairly inexpensive. Try sending your flyer by direct mail. Make sure that all the people on the mailing list you purchase are internet users or your time might be wasted.
Buying commercial time on T.V. can be an expensive solution which I do not recommend unless you have a large advertising budget. There are far better ways to advertise your web site to obtain more traffic that are less costly.
Give your business cards to everyone! Make sure it contains your online information. Attend special events such as trade shows, seminars, fairs, etc. and give it to everyone you meet there. Even if they do not use it themselves, they just might pass it on!
Make smaller flyers and arrange to have it inserted in other businesses' product packages. Combining advertising this way can be less costly than doing the mailing yourself. This type of co-op mailing can bring the type of web site traffic you want and need.
Contact a local agency that provides classes. Offer to hold a free offline class that will teach people how to use their computer or the Internet. Use your web site to display to them as an example. This will provide a large increase in your web site traffic.
Create or use your current logo and have a company print some mouse pads. Give them away for free. You could also ask your local computer store to give them away which will bring more web site traffic.
Using Your Niche for Web Site Traffic
Target your offline advertising campaign to people that you know will be interested in your particular product or service. Do not target only one market. Expand your thinking and reach as many people as you can. If you sell craft items, contact craft stores and places that teach crafts. If your business is only based online, do not market to people that do not have access to the Internet or your marketing efforts will be useless.
