Why Register Multiple Domain Names?

With the rush to obtain a domain name, why would someone want to register multiple domain names? The answer is simple. The more key domain names that point to your web site, the more visitors you will have and the easier it will be for them to find you.

For instance, if your company name is Palm Trees Guesthouse and you are located in Florida, you could register the domain name palmtreesguesthouse.com, palm-trees-guesthouse.com, greatfloridab&b.com;, great-florida-b&b.com;, and best-florida-guesthouse.com. If a browser typed great florida guesthouse, your website would be the first they would see listed.

When you register a multiple domain name in this manner, you multiply the chances of getting the visitors you need to make your business flourish.

Many of the registrars now offer bulk domain name registering. They provide a main screen where you enter the list of domain names that you want. Their program goes through the WhoIs database and determines if the domain name(s) is available. They will also tell you if the suffixes of .net and .org are available for the same name. Add a check mark to the names presented that you wish to register.

Their next screen allows you to enter your personal information as the owner of the site. The information required is your company name, your first and last name, your company address (including city, state and postal code), your business and home phone numbers along with a fax number if you have one. If you do not have a hosting company, you can choose to host your site with them. You will also be offered the option of parking your domain(s) until you have selected a hosting provider.
