Tribute Gifts

Pansy is the English way of saying pensée, the French word for “thought.” At one time, people sent pansies to their loved ones to let them know they were thinking of them. Is there someone with whom you have shared a moment in time or a lifetime of moments? A tribute gift is for anyone who lives in our hearts.

You can let someone know your thoughts with a gift to the Chicago Botanic Garden in his or her name. Celebrate a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or holiday, say thank you or share a memory. There are many ways to celebrate someone special.

Contributions between $50 and $5,000 offer the opportunity to dedicate:

A specially selected book in our library. It will carry your thoughtful dedication on a bookplate on the inside front cover.
An engraved brick in the Commemorative Brick Walkway across from the Gateway Center.
A tree or shrub located within our 385-acre Garden. Choose from a variety of existing plantings and dedicate the perfect one for the life of the plant.
A changing display in the North Gallery of the Education Center to celebrate a special occasion or delight an out-of-town visitor.
An existing Chicago Botanic Garden bench located in a beautiful garden setting.
Upon receipt of the gift, the Garden will notify your special person or that person’s family with a card or letter describing the dedication. With a contribution of at least $150, the individual being honored or remembered will be listed in a special section of the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Annual Report.
