WHERE TO FISH
Click on local area map
This is a good base for the Pike angler who would
like to explore the vast waters of Lough Derg's southern shores.
Coarse angling is also possible for mainly bream.
Youghal and Barrack Bays are noted Pike fishing
areas around Dromineer village and well worth a bit of effort to catch Pike up
to 20lb+. For the Coarse angler there are a few locations where shore fishing is
possible. Extensive shoals of large Bream abound the waters here and 100+lbs
bags are not uncommon, once shoals are encountered. The harbour at the Sailing Club, the 'Beach' and the
mouth of the Nenagh River will all offer shore fishing possibilities. There are
many shore venues in virtually hidden areas on the lake for the more adventurous
angler willing to do a bit of exploration. A boat equipped with fish finder is
advisable in locating the shoals of bream. Your local accommodation hosts and
service providers will provide all the assistance and advice you will need.
There is a Slipway where boats may be launched at Dromineer if you are planning
on bringing your own boat.
