ALASKA STATE PENSION INVESTMENT BOARD

 The Alaska State Pension Investment Board (ASPIB) was established pursuant to AS 37.10.210 on July 1, 1993. The purpose of the board is to provide prudent and productive management and investment of state pension funds.

The Systems and Plans for which the ASPIB manages and invests funds are the:

The board consists of eight trustees and is staffed by the Department of Revenue, Treasury Division.  The board is required to appoint an investment advisory council (IAC) composed of at least three and not more than five members who possess experience and expertise in financial investments and management of investment portfolios.  ASPIB also contracts with an external consulting firm for assistance with asset allocation and strategy, performance measurement, and general consulting purposes.
