Be Safe
Usually there is no problem meeting someone for the first time. All the same, it is worth
taking a few precautions:
- Don't rush in - Exchange a few messages via LocalRomance.com to get to know someone before
swapping e-mail addresses or phone numbers.
- Do not exchange your address, surname, place of work or other similar information
until you have got to know someone well, and have met a few times.
- When you do decide to meet up, meet in a public place.
- Let a friend know where you are going and when you will be back.
Other things you might want to consider are:
- If you are nervous, consider organising a double date with a friend.
- Work out how you will recognise each other. Maybe say what you will be wearing or
meet in a very specific place.
- Consider a lunchtime meeting for the first time.
- Agree to go dutch before the meeting to avoid any embarrassment later.
- If for some reason you find you can't make a meeting, then let your date know.
- Above all, relax, enjoy - and be yourself !
