SIT and BRAZ-TESOL Announce Special Scholarship

The School for International Training and BRAZ-TESOL are proud to offer a scholarship devoted exclusively to the professional development of English teachers in Brazil. Awarded competitively each year and recently increased substantially, the scholarship is available to members of BRAZ-TESOL enrolled in SIT’s Master of Arts in Teaching.

Honoring the importance of the teaching profession in Brazil, and the nation’s teachers of English in particular, the scholarship will be used to develop effective intercultural communication by Brazilians who are leaders in the field of teaching.

There is important overlap in the interests of the two organizations. The mission of the School for International Training is to prepare students to be interculturally effective leaders, professionals, and citizens. In so doing, SIT fosters a worldwide network of individuals and organizations committed to responsible global citizenship.

BRAZ-TESOL supports teachers in a variety of ways. As Brazil's largest association of teachers of English to speakers of other languages BRAZ-TESOL supports teacher development programs in all types of teaching institutions in Brazil and promotes studies in the area of English teaching and related fields, among other initiatives.
