This beach is situated 2.75
kms south west of Carrigaholt. There is ideal access as a road
runs along the head of the beach. Species taken here are dogfish
and flatfish at the western end using fish bait and lugworm. The
area sees very little angling pressure and other species may be
available. There are some lugworm at the eastern end. The best
time to fish this beach is at low water and the first three hours
of the flooding tide.
Bait
Rinevalla Bay is a
good location to get bait. There is good access as the road runs
along the head of the beach. At low water there are patches of
lugworm all along this stretch and the most productive areas are
in the shelter of the rocky outcrops and sand banks.Bait can be
obtained from Carrigaholt Pier which is situated 0.5 km on the
eastern side of Carrigaholt village is another location close by.
Access is easy and there is parking on the side of the road near
the main Slipway. Soft and peeler crab can be collected both here
and and among the rocks adjacent to the pier. Some lugworm and
small ragworm can also be dug in the sandy patches beside the inner pier.

BASS
It is prohibited to take and kill more than two bass on any one day.

· Minimum overall size limit of 40cm. From tip of snout to end of
tail. Closed season from 15th May to 15th June.
Note: Penalties for breach of the
above laws include confiscation of tackle and heavy fines.
