Your credit is very important to every aspect of your life. Making a large purchase like a home or a car will require that the seller or lender look at your credit report. However, your credit and credit report will be used for small purchases such as jewelry or computer equipment and even for cellular phone service. Your credit report should be checked periodically for errors.

This is because your credit report is so important and errors can show up on your credit report for various reasons. The information that is included on your credit report is: name, address, social security number, bankruptcies, tax liens, judgments, child support obligations, loans, and the names of other lenders

You should look at your credit report every three months. This will insure that all the information that is being reported is accurate. If you do find an error on your credit report the sooner you are aware of it the sooner it can be taken off of the report. If the information on your report isnot accurate you could be denied credit from lenders.

Checking your report and keeping track of your credit status is a smart move by any responsible consumer. It is good to know what your rating is and if there are any problem areas that you need to fix to bring up your credit score.
